Samsung Unveils Odyssey Neo G9, Odyssey OLED G9, ViewFinity S9 and Smart Monitor M8 at CES 2023

At CES 2023, Samsung presented new products from the Odyssey, ViewFinity and Smart Monitor series. The Odyssey Neo G9, Odyssey OLED G9, ViewFinity S9 and Smart Monitor M8 are the latest to join the lineup. The Odyssey Neo G9 is the world’s first stand-alone dual ultra-high resolution monitor.

For the first time, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor has a 57-inch UHD display with an aspect ratio of 32:9 and a resolution of 7680 x 2160. Thanks to the VESA Display HDR 1000 specification and quantum micro LED technology, its curved 57″ panel 1000R provides an excellent image in all gaming environments, including dark and light scenarios. The matte display minimizes interference during the most intense games by reducing the reflection of light on the screen. The Odyssey Neo G9 also supports a 240Hz refresh rate, ensuring gamers don’t miss anything during the frenetic action.

In addition, it has the first ever DisplayPort 2.1 support, which transfers data approximately twice as fast as the previous DisplayPort 1.4 standard. Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC)

The latest model in the Odyssey family, the Odyssey OLED G9, is a dual 49″ 1800R curved display with four HD resolutions and a 32:9 aspect ratio. Its OLED lighting using quantum dot technology is regulated pixel by pixel, allowing almost unlimited color contrast ratios. Odyssey OLED G9’s 0.1ms response time and 240Hz refresh rate help prevent lag and skipping during gaming.

The OLED panel provides true RGB and true black without the use of color filters, enabling a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. It also lights each pixel independently and doesn’t rely on a backlight. The Odyssey OLED G9 also uses apps from partners such as Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube through the Smart Hub, allowing customers to access a variety of over-the-top media via an internet connection and without a computer.

It also has Samsung Gaming Hub, an all-in-one game streaming platform that lets gamers find and play cloud games from partners like Xbox and NVIDIA GeForce Now without a console or game downloads.

Samsung ViewFinity S9 (S90PC)

The newest monitor in Samsung’s portfolio is the ViewFinity S9. For the first time, it has a 5K 27-inch screen and is designed with creative professionals such as graphic designers and photographers in mind. The 5,120 x 2,880 resolution and wide color gamut of 99% DCI-P3 offers sharp and faithful details even in complex or delicate visual contexts, and the average color accuracy of Delta E 2 also creates a clear and accurate color display.

The monitor’s built-in Color Calibration Engine delivers accurate screen colors and brightness, and users can adjust white balance, gamma and RGB color balance using their mobile phones for flawless accuracy. The matte display reduces glare and light reflections and reduces workplace distractions.

Users can effortlessly transfer huge volumes of high-definition video or other huge data files from storage devices to their computer by connecting cameras and other devices to the monitor using USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 connections. The ViewFinity S9 series includes a 4K SlimFit camera and offers native video conferencing with applications compatible with Samsung Smart Hub, such as Google Meet.

Smart Monitor M8 (M80C)

The Smart Monitor M8 is available in two new sizes, 27″ and 32″, both with 4K resolution, and has a sleek and slim design. Users get the optimal angle thanks to the height-adjustable stand with tilt support. Users can now see long papers with less scrolling thanks to the ability to tilt the screen 90 degrees. Plus, it meets VESA mount compatibility standards, which helps keep your environment clutter-free and space-saving.

Through the integrated SmartThings Hub, the Smart Monitor M8 can connect, manage and control hundreds of compatible connected devices such as lights, cameras, doorbells, locks, thermostats and more. Many ad-hoc applications on the Smart Monitor, such as SmartThings and Smart Hub, now include mouse control functions for more convenient use without a remote control.

Through the Smart Hub, Smart Monitor M8 users have instant access to Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube and other premium services. Plus, they have easy access to the Samsung Gaming Hub, a full-scale game streaming platform.

The SlimFit Smart Monitor M8’s built-in camera has been upgraded to 2K quality and is compatible with video conferencing software such as Google Meet.

In addition, the Smart Monitor M8 is protected by Samsung Knox Vault, which protects it from threats by encrypting user data and isolating stored files and information from the device’s primary operating system.

This monitor is available in four colors so it is compatible with any space: warm white, daylight blue, spring green or pink.
